Mortgage Paid in Full: A Huge Thank You to the Wills Group for a $150,000 Grant
The Wills Group, a Charles County-based, family-owned company donated a $150,000 grant, which paid off the mortgage for our new transitional housing in full. The overwhelmingly generous gift, presented at the opening of the Wills Group’s new La Plata headquarters, will allow us to properly support our incoming residents.
This grant benefits our new facility on the site of the former White House Motel on US-301 where we’ll soon provide housing for up to 77 residents, with spaces for both individuals and families. It comes courtesy of the Blackie Wills Community Leadership Fund, which is focused on eliminating childhood hunger and ensuring families have access to basic needs.
“We are incredibly thankful for this grant,” said Sandy Washington, Executive Director of LifeStyles of Maryland. “It brings us leaps and bounds closer to bringing protection and care to those most in need in Charles County.”
Southern Crossing has the vision, but providing for the working poor of Charles County can’t be accomplished without your help to make it a reality.
Nothing makes change happen faster than generous donations, such as our grant from the Wills Group. If you or your company would like to make a tax-deductible contribution, please visit our website for individual or corporate donations.
